A lot of people make the claim that they have set goals and applied themselves, and then failed, so they gave up. If you stop and look at that for a moment, it is a massive contradiction in terms. How could they have applied themselves if they have given up? And how could they fail if they have not completely applied themselves? If you want to achieve your gaols, you have to decide to do so, and failure is no longer an option.
Anything less than total devotion to your goals is not only going to result in partially achieving them, but it could also be considered as cheating yourself out of the achievements that could be possible. Even obstacle along the path to your goals should be considered as landmark achievements, each one representing one more hurdle you have passed on the way to meeting your goals. If those hurdles stop you in your tracks, it is only because you have chosen to stop, not because they were insurmountable.
You have got to give it your all. Whether you are mowing the lawn, or making a million dollar business deal, give everything you do your total attention, and perform the task as though it were the only thing important. How could anyone hope to achieve their goals without being fully involved in making them happen? They are within your reach, but you have to be the one to step forward make them a reality.
Your future is open to whatever you choose to to do with it, once you have decided that you are ready and committed to make a change. Once you have gotten to the point where you are able to identify your goals, and focus on what you want to accomplish, everything else will fall into place, allowing you to move forward. But you must be willing to give it your all, because nothing less can get the results you want.
Are your goals important to you? If they are, then you have no excuse not to succeed. Put all of your effort and energy into a positive attitude of accomplishment, and get the job done. After all, those goals are not as important to anyone else as to yourself, so it is totally up to you to give them everything you have to give. When others see how dedicated you are to success, they will join in, and the task will become much easier to achieve.
You can succeed. But in order to do so, you have to give it everything you’ve got, and approach the goals with the conviction that you know they will succeed, and the dedication of one who is determined to see their dreams come to fruition. Success is not difficult nor elusive, but it does require you to first want to succeed, and then your dedication to making it happen. Today is your chance to make a complete difference in your life by applying yourself to meeting your own personal goals.
